I left the classroom because I believe the greatest experiment I can run is right here — building a Kailali that works for everyone.
Key areas of focus in Parliament to serve the people of Kailali constituency
Establishing world-class institutions and expanding access to higher education, including Geta Medical College (MBBS, BDS) and Sudurpashchim University.
Upgrading hospital facilities, ensuring regular medicine supply, and making healthcare affordable and accessible for every citizen in Kailali.
Creating youth employment, supporting local agriculture and enterprise, and developing Kailali into an economic hub for Sudurpashchim Province.
Leveraging international networks and experience to bring global investment, technology, and opportunities to Kailali's communities.

Ananda Bahadur Chand didn't follow an easy path to public life. Born in Baitadi and shaped by the hills of Sudurpashchim, he spent nearly two decades inside Nepal's classrooms and laboratories — teaching chemistry at Tribhuvan University, publishing research, and quietly building something rare in Nepali public life: a career grounded in evidence, not noise.
He has stood before international audiences in Dublin, London, South Africa, and Singapore — not as a diplomat with talking points, but as a scientist who actually read the data. He has challenged tobacco corporations on behalf of Nepali lives. He has run national institutions. And then, when it mattered, he walked away from a tenured professorship to stand for election in Kailali-5.
Ananda has completed his PhD in Advanced Materials and Green Chemistry — because he believes that a leader who has stopped learning has stopped serving. His research connects directly to sustainable development: the kind of future Kailali's young people deserve.
He is not a career politician. He is a scientist who chose politics — because Kailali-5 deserves someone who brings both head and heart to Parliament.
